Update on house buying

So we should be moving in about 3 weeks.  I hope.  The house has been appraised and valued for what we are asking.  The inspections are now going on.  The house inspector recommends a new roof.  So we have to figure out who will pay for that.  We have to provide some more information to get the loan.  Yadda, yadda, yadda.  I can't wait for this to be done and to be a home owner.

Then there is the stress of moving.  The timing of all this occurs during the opening of the boy scout camp we help out at.  We have been spending a bulk of our time prepping for camp.  I have been working on the menus and husband has been working on all the opening projects.  Around all this, we have been packing.  Its draining.  Working at the camp will not be a relaxing vacation.  Then we have to move the whole house.  The furniture, appliances, clothes, books (tons of them), and kitchen stuff.  I just get tired thinking of it.

The other big hurdle is Faldur.  There is no fenced area for him at the new home.  So in addition to moving, we have to build a home for Faldur.

Sigh.  Must keep the positive thoughts up.

We are buying a house!

Because we are moving once again. In a good way. Husband got a new job in the company. Same position, new location. Hoping that we like this area better than a current location and things are pointing to the positive on that. The new home is in a better location, closer to all of our hobby locations and near to our friends. Well, more his than mine; as mine are spread across the nation and thats just frustrating when you want to just have lunch with a friend. However, the new home is closer to an international airport so I might get to see my friends anyway.

The new home also has space for my horse, which is a big plus for me. It does not have the fencing so I get to buy that (ugh). Also on the list of things which the makes the new house not so awesome is the dated interior and a surprising amount of wallpaper. Which means a lot of paint and redecorating is in my future. New floors, new kitchen, and new bathrooms. Fun, yet, exhausting. I am also discovering that my husband's tastes vary from mine. Sometimes just a little and sometimes an alarming degree. Plus he can't see it in his head so it has to executed in model or real life before he gets what I am trying to explain. Thank you Pinterest for helping provide examples!

Before all of this becomes an issue though, we need to escrow to close and moving to happen. That leads me to my daily activities: packing. Room by room, object by object, box by box. Man, we have a lot of stuff for a house that is relatively empty!

Horse Update: Faldur is looking great but for his eyes, which are manageable right now. He has had his current fly mask for about a month and hasn't destroyed it yet. We have been going on longer sunset trail rides; to beat the heat and increase stamina. The trails at the new house will further away so I want him fit to get to the trail, on the trail, and back home from the trail. I love owning my boy. He puts a smile on my face everyday.
